Kattupakkam: What to Know Before You Look
A west Chennai stretch between Porur and Poonamallee with a Yellow Line metro station built, a cluster of hospitals and colleges, and DLF Cybercity within reach.
Kattupakkam (PIN 600056) is a western suburb on Mount-Poonamallee Road, State Highway 55, between Porur and Poonamallee. It is about 20 km from Fort St George along that road, in Tiruvallur district, with Iyyappanthangal, Mangadu, Kumananchavadi and Manapakkam as neighbours.
The Chennai Metro Yellow Line, Corridor 4, runs along Mount-Poonamallee Road with an elevated Kattupakkam station between Iyyappanthangal and Kumananchavadi. The Poonamallee Bypass to Vadapalani section has safety approval, but passenger service had not been confirmed as started at the latest report we found, in late July 2026. On the Poonamallee High Road side is a cluster of large medical and education institutions, and DLF Cybercity and the Manapakkam corporate belt lie towards Porur.

Getting Around Kattupakkam
Mount-Poonamallee Road is the spine. Metro is built but not confirmed running, and there is no suburban station in Kattupakkam.

Metro status. The Kattupakkam station is built, but as of the latest report we found, on 27 July 2026, the corridor had not opened to passengers and was awaiting a Union government inauguration date, with some stations between Porur and Vadapalani still unfinished. Kattupakkam was not among the unfinished ones. Confirm the current position with Chennai Metro Rail Limited before you plan around it.

Check the RERA registrations
Ventra is registered as TNRERA/2/BLG/0119/2026 and Linore as TN/02/Building/035/2024. Search each on the Tamil Nadu RERA website and confirm the registered completion date, since Casagrand does not state a handover window.
Do not book on a metro promise alone
The Kattupakkam station is built, but service had not been confirmed as started at the latest report we found. Check with Chennai Metro Rail Limited, and look at the frequency and the fare as well as the opening.
Look at the road in the rain
Mount-Poonamallee Road was badly damaged in the December 2025 rains, and commuters have reported poor lighting under the elevated section and unregulated U-turns during construction. Visit after a wet day and drive the road at rush hour.

Both projects show few homes left on Casagrand's page. Ask which towers, floors and home types remain before you plan a visit.
